On behalf of the 2013-2014 Interfraternity Council Executive Board at the University of Maryland, I would like to personally welcome you to our website. It has been designed to help facilitate coordination, collaboration, and the communication of pertinent information between our Executive Board, other Greek organizations and students, and any other interested non-Greek organizations and students on campus. Specifically, this website contains important information regarding our council's goals, campus resources, fraternity recruitment, athletics announcements, community service and philanthropic event announcements, interfraternal networking, and contact information for each organization within our council. The Interfraternity Council, or IFC, is the governing council that oversees 23 fully recognized, national fraternal organizations at the University of Maryland. The IFC Executive Board is comprised of 10 student leaders elected by the presidents of every chapter each year. Our mission here on campus is to be an intermediary between fraternities and the university, support and guide each member chapter toward reaching its greatest potential through promoting brotherhood, leadership, scholarship, service, facilitating interfraternal relations, and holding members and chapters to high moral standards by exemplifying a positive image to the campus, community, and beyond. We aim to build better men, better chapters, and a better community.
Joining a fraternity has proven to be one of the most valuable and enjoyable decisions I could have made in my collegiate career. I have grown and matured as an individual and leader in ways that only a fraternity can offer. I strongly encourage you to take advantage of the unique opportunities that the IFC has to offer - it is a decision that you will not regret.
